Origins
In 2012, our founder, Jordan Kivett, entered the automotive industry by working for a large privately owned automotive corporation in Kansas City, MO. Jordan held Sales, Sales Management, and Financial Management positions across two different corporations before encountering a life-changing event at his local County Treasurer that would impact the automotive and title industry as a whole, and culminate in the founding of J.G. Title Company.
In 2021, Jordan moved from another State and became a Kansas resident. While at the County Treasurer (DMV), Jordan submitted his state transfer paperwork for a personal vehicle registration, only to be told that he would need to obtain new paperwork from several different parties, causing potential havoc for his schedule.
Due to his knowledge of automotive finance, Jordan suggested a simple solution that would not cause any delay in his schedule or constitute obstruction to laws and regulations. After a lengthy back and forth with the initial agent and involvement from supervisors, Jordan was vindicated and the simple fix was accepted.
After this time-consuming process, Jordan decided something must be done about title inefficiencies for the public and businesses, alike. Within 48 hours of this encounter, Jordan officially founded J.G. Title Company with a small group of automotive professionals in 2021.
An Explosion
Throughout 2021, the newly founded team became obsessed with bringing semantic and consistent title and lien filing wait times for commercial dealerships. Quickly partnering with regional and local dealerships, JGT proved to be a superior solution to other options in the automotive industry. JGT’s investments in government relationships provided a consistent process, alleviating many title-related issues for their clients.
That same year, JGT was authorized to present its products and services at the NADA Expo, the largest automotive franchise expo in the nation, allowing large industry players to observe and gain access to JGT. With over 80 interested corporations, JGT was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of funding to further the mission of simplifying titles & registrations nationwide. As a result of this massive achievement, JGT was able to secure large accounts with dealer groups and fleet management companies, leading to the next frontier of J.G. Title Company - the J.G. Title Suite.
Tech Rises
By the beginning of 2022, the JGT team had doubled in size, and taken on substantially more transactions since its initial founding. After the explosion of business in 2021, JGT decided to invest in the future of the industry and made a bold move - automate as much of the title industry as the law would allow.
Throughout the beginning and middle of 2022, the JGT team diligently searched for the right partners to build the new proprietary titling platform, while simultaneously restructuring the internal office processes to build around exponential growth.
By mid 2022, JGT secured a partnership with a globally recognized and award-winning group of developers in New York and broke ground on the ambitious JGT Suite.
By the end of 2022, the JGT Development Team had catagorized tax, document, and regulation data across 11,000 US jurisdictions, including most Tribal Lands and began writing algorithms to begin the automation and digitization process.
Finally, at the beginning of 2023, the JGT Development Team confirmed the JGT Suite was operational for Phase 1, which included document management, 50 state tax data, lien information, real-time connectivity to title clerks and auditors, and much more. The decision was made to activate the platform for commercial dealers, fleet management companies, lienholders, and other related businesses. This massive milestone changed how dealers and other businesses submitted, monitored, and completed titles & registrations within their organizations.
Still on the Frontier
At present, J.G. Title Company is a major player in the title & registration industry. JGT has strategic partnerships with data corporations, government agencies, financial institutions, automotive corporations, and other assorted automotive companies. JGT serves large commercial accounts in all 50 States in the US and currently facilitates title transactions for nationwide accounts like Tesla. JGT has also released automated replacement title and registration services for the general public, once again delivering on its founding promise to make titling easier for all people.
In general, JGT intends to utilize all the newest technologies on the market to create new tools to allow all people access to title & register vehicles without large time investments and burdensome requirements. We look forward to serving more people as we change the future of titling together.
